August 7, 2009, Newsletter Issue #58: Pomeranian Puppies for Sale

Tip of the Week

When you saw a Pomeranian, you simply fell in love with this spunky little breed. That sweet pixie face surrounded by a cloud of hair, a loving disposition and a willing attitude combined to make the perfect dog for you. A quick search at showed you several Pomeranian puppies for sale in your area and you are headed out the door to get a puppy. Before you jump in the car, there are some things you should know about this special breed.

Pomeranians may be small, but they have big attitudes. This breed was once a much larger dog and was used to herd in the tough Baltic climate. Their intelligence and spunk means these pint-sized pups are ideal watchdogs. They definitely know their own minds and can be stubborn.

If you aren't at home much, this breed will be miserable. Poms need a ton of attention from their families. While some other breeds that crave attention are content with another dog, these little guys really do need their people to be around, too.

There are quite a few health problems common to the breed, including heart defects, trachea problems and hypoglycemia. Epilepsy and knee dysplasia are also common disorders.
